Collection: Cranberry Glass Collection | Hand-Blown Ruby Glass with Gold

Cranberry glass is a richly colored red glass created by adding gold salts—most often gold chloride—to molten glass, producing its distinctive ruby-to-cranberry hue. Because of the cost of gold and the precision required, cranberry glass has traditionally been made in small craft batches, typically hand-blown or hand-molded rather than mass-produced.

The most celebrated period of cranberry glass production dates to 19th-century Britain during the Victorian era, when the glowing red glass became a symbol of elegance and refinement. In the 20th century, American glassmakers revived the tradition, producing some of the most admired cranberry pieces sought by collectors today.

Notable producers include Pilgrim Glass Company and Fenton Art Glass, both known for mastering the challenging gold-based coloring process. Achieving a deep, even cranberry tone required exceptional skill and often the coordinated work of multiple artisans.

Our Cranberry Glass collection showcases hand-crafted pieces prized for their luminous color, fine workmanship, and timeless appeal, bridging Victorian tradition with American studio glass artistry
