Our Story

Townhouse Antiques & Vintage was founded by Rhonda and Ed Huber, born from a lifelong connection to antiques and a shared belief in preserving objects with history and soul. After Ed concluded a long career in regional retail management, the couple chose to turn their passion into a business dedicated to sourcing and sharing meaningful antiques and vintage finds.

Ed’s roots in the antiques trade run deep. Raised among early American antiques, Shaker, folk art, and primitives, he grew up learning the business firsthand. His grandmother, Jane Murphy, was a respected antique dealer in Greater Cincinnati for more than 75 years. In the early 1940s, she opened her first brick-and-mortar shop, The Townhouse Antiques. This business proudly carries her name in tribute to her legacy and that original store.

Jane Murphy was, in every sense, an early “American Picker.” Ed fondly recalls driving her to farm auctions, only to be asked to pull over so she could knock on the door of a nearby farmhouse and inquire about “any old dolls.” Those visits often led to attics filled with forgotten treasures—and homeowners delighted to see them find new homes.

While Ed was immersed in antiques from both the buying and selling side from a young age, Rhonda’s appreciation for antiques was shaped by a childhood abroad. Her father served 22 years in the United States Air Force, and the family lived throughout Europe and the United Kingdom. Weekends were spent exploring historic sites and castles or browsing village antique shops. Their home reflected those experiences, filled with European furnishings, French clocks, original artwork, and Staffordshire pieces.

Today, Rhonda and Ed are especially drawn to pottery, ironstone, glass candy containers, political memorabilia, early American primitives, vintage clothing and textiles, religious artifacts, and garden and architectural elements. When an item has truly “seen its day,” Ed often reclaims it—thoughtfully transforming it into something beautiful and functional for a new chapter.

At Townhouse Antiques & Vintage, every piece has a story. We are honored to help carry those stories forward.
