FENTON CRANBERRY GLASS Caprice Pitcher Circa 1980s
FENTON CRANBERRY GLASS Caprice Pitcher Circa 1980s
Low stock: 1 left
Wonderful piece of vintage hand blown cranberry glass by the FENTON ART GLASS COMPANY. The piece is in the shape of a CREAM PITCHER or a syrup pitcher and is advertised in the June 1987 catalog as the 4½” CRANBERRY GLASS CAPRICE PITCHER; 9760 CC. I’ve included a copy of the page in the photos.
The beautiful pitcher has a raised ribbed design throughout the body and a motif design placed three times across the neck. The curved handle is clear glass in the basket pattern. The rim of the pitcher is smooth with a small indent near the handle made to place your thumb when you pour.
Including the handle, the pitcher stands a little over 4 ½” tall and is about 4 ¼” wide including the handle. The Fenton logo mark and the number 8 is embossed on the bottom of the pitcher. The piece is in excellent condition and has no chips, cracks or repairs.
Fenton Cranberry Glass: Fenton Cranberry Glass pieces boasts genuine gold, the catalyst for transforming the molten glass into the iconic, vibrant cranberry hue. Its creation requires mastery of both the glass-blowing artistry and the scientific knowledge to mix the specific gold chloride formula. In some cases, up to 25 artisans are needed to craft a single piece.
