LE CHÂTEAU DE CHENONCEAU Loire Valley France Watercolor Art Print

This colorful vintage watercolor print, LE CHÂTEAU DE CHENONCEAU is in excellent condition and ready to frame. The watercolor showcases the idyllic and enchanting Château de Chenonceau located in the beautiful French Loire Valley. Its fairytale-like aesthetic captures a panoramic view of the estate with its famous five-arch bridge stretching across the River Cher. In the foreground, fishermen can be seen peacefully angling along the riverbank. 

The Collection Colorima print measures 9 ½” by 12”.  The print's tile is written on script under the painting in the white space. The following text is printed on the back of the print.

The text credits the wife of Thomas Bohier, Katherine Briçonnet, for her significant involvement in the construction of the Château de Chenonceau from 1513 to 1521. She was the first in a long line of influential women who played a role in shaping the estate, often referred to as the "Ladies' Château." Other notable women who have made an impact on the estate over the centuries include Diane de Poitiers, Henri II's mistress; Catherine de' Medici, Henri II's widow; Louise of Lorraine, wife of Henri III; and Madame Dupin, who saved the château from destruction during the French Revolution.
