The YANKEE "MAIN DISH" CHURCH SUPPER COOKBOOK is an authentic vintage mini-cookbook created from excerpts of "The Yankee Church Supper Cookbook".
Over 100 kitchen-tested recipes, these nostalgic recipes include Red Flannel Hash, Shepherd's Pie, Chicken Pie and Chicken à la King. Most if not all, were submissions from parish and church members through the East Coast.
This cookbook is a perfect representation of mid-century American retail marketing and promotion, often featuring branded cookbooks & recipe booklets as give-aways. This mini-cookbook was likely distributed as an incentive for magazine subscription and to generate sales of the complete cookbook.
The 64-page booklet measures 8 ¼” x 5 ¼” and is in great condition was published by Yankee Books ©1980. Cover features a needlework design by Jean MacLeod of a steepled white church.
