Otis Spencer composed the music for WHEN YOU'RE ALONE, with Eugene West contributing lyrics. The iconic opening line of "You say you're going to have your way and our romance ends today" sets the stage for a lovers' breakup.
ArtMusic of New York released a piano/voice performance sheet music in 1919, which featured a vibrant cover illustration of a woman wearing a hat by W. R. (William Ross) Cameron - perfect for framing. The back page promotes four vocal gems, including Take Me to Your Heart and Waters of Venice.
This sheet music is kept in great condition, apart from some pink discoloration on the rear side and a slight split on the fold. A stamp from the L.S. Ayres Department Store Music Department adorns the front of the sheet music. The piece comes housed in a protective sleeve.
