THE GOLDEN BOOK OF FAVORITE SONGS Revised & Enlarged compiled by John Walter Beattie and published by Hall & McCreary Company of Chicago, is a collection of two-hundred two songs, of which, one-hundred ninety-two include the musical scores. The songbook was often used for assembly and group singing.
Many of the songs include a descriptive narrative detailing the origin of the song and background information on its lyricist and/or composer.
