Cal De Roll's composition, SWEETEST LITTLE ROSE in Tennessee: A Lullaby, was published by Ted Browne Music Company of Chicago in 1924. The cover designed by A. D. Brown, features a stereotypical illustration of an African American woman situated on a bench near a cabin, cradling a child, contextualizing the accompanying lyrics. At the center of the cover are photographs of the Cambridge Sisters, who were popular radio artists on WGN Chicago.
The six-page sheet music is in excellent condition, with no markings and minimal visible signs of wear. A protective sleeve is included to prevent any damage. Sought after by collectors of vintage sheet music and Black Americana alike.
