Vintage print from an illustration by Lawrence Wilbur depicting a young girl holding a Jack Russell Terrier. The print bears Wilbur's famous signature with an oblique line below in the lower right hand corner, and ©Shaw Barton on the left.
The print reproduced on quality paper was used for the production layout of a Shaw Barton calendar. It measures approximately 7" by 9" and is in excellent condition--perfect for framing. Copy on back of print reads:
Born Lawrence Lazear Wilbur in 1893, Wilbur was raised in Omaha, Nebraska. Following high school he moved to New York City to study art, establishing himself as a successful commercial artist. He created lithographs, large images for billboards, and more than one cover for the Saturday Evening Post. Wilbur died in 1976.
