Featuring the tall PEDESTAL FLOWER VASE or ROSE BOWL in the Shepherd's Plaid AKA Pineapple & Fan pattern by Model Flint.
Shepherd's Plaid, pattern number 891 was released by Model Flint in 1894 while the similar pattern, Pineapple & Fan was produced by several other glassware companies.
The PEDESTAL FLOWER VASE or ROSE BOWL measures 9 ¾" high bowl to base, and the bowl alone measures 5 ½" high. It is great condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.
The pattern is listed on the Early American Pattern Glass Society and in Ron Teal's book, Model Flint Glass Company of Albany, Indiana on page 121 as Shepherd's Plaid, but Teal does not confirm that this style vase has been matched with shards from the Albany plant.
About Model Flint: Model Flint Glass Company was established in 1888 in Findlay, Ohio, funded by Findlay investors. The factory was damaged seriously one three separate occasions by tornados before ceasing operations of the plant in 1893 and moving to a new factory in Albany, Indiana. Known in Albany as the Model Flint Glass Works, it closed in 1902 after its consolidation with National Glass Company.
