This antique Lambrecht Butter crock is a scarce regional variation of a classic American dairy advertising collectible. Produced between 1910 and 1930 by the Lambrecht Dairy Company, these heavy stoneware crocks were originally used to package and market their award-winning butter.
Most Lambrecht crocks feature the company’s Milwaukee or Chicago branding, but this example is marked “New York – New Jersey”—a reference to the company’s East Coast distribution network during its expansion years in the late 1920s–1930s.
- Era: Circa 1910–1930
- Material: Heavy stoneware with cobalt blue stenciled logo
- Marking: Lambrecht Butter – “Famous for its Flavor” – New York & New Jersey
- Dimensions: 5" W x 3 ½" H
- Condition: Displays a hairline crack on the front and side, a chip on its side near the base, and some surface staining (see photos). Still structurally solid and excellent for display.
This crock is more than just a piece of pottery—it tells the story of Lambrecht Dairy’s reach from the Midwest to the East Coast, showcasing how regional branding played a key role in early 20th-century food marketing.
A must-have for collectors of stoneware advertising, butter crocks, and regional American dairy history.
