This real photo postcard depicts the Pfälzische Kinderheilstätte, a children's sanatorium situated in Bad Dürkheim in Germany's Palatinate region. Established in 1894, the institution provided long-term care for youngsters suffering from tuberculosis. The indication of the flag in the background suggests that the image was taken between 1920 and 1945.

The black and white postcard with handwritten white ink caption bearing the initials E.H.M and a postage box stamped with 123106 M/1320, the postcard was likely published by Emil Hartmann of Mannheim.
