FENTON CRANBERRY GLASS Caprice Pitcher Circa 1980s

Regular price $36.00 $0.00

Availability: 1

Wonderful piece of vintage hand blown cranberry glass by the FENTON ART GLASS COMPANY. The piece is in the shape of a CREAM PITCHER or a syrup pitcher and is advertised in the June 1987 catalog as the 4½” CRANBERRY GLASS CAPRICE PITCHER; 9760 CC. I’ve included a copy of the page in the photos.

The beautiful pitcher has a raised ribbed design throughout the body and a motif design placed three times across the neck. The curved handle is clear glass in the basket pattern. The rim of the pitcher is smooth with a small indent near the handle made to place your thumb when you pour.

Including the handle, the pitcher stands a little over 4 ½” tall and is about 4 ¼” wide including the handle.

The Fenton logo mark and the number 8 is embossed on the bottom of the pitcher.

The piece is in excellent condition and has no chips, cracks or repairs. Would be a perfect addition to a collector's Fenton or cranberry glass collection.

Fenton Cranberry Glass

All Fenton Cranberry pieces contain pure gold. It is the gold that reacts to the extreme heat to form the beautiful cranberry color. All Fenton cranberry glass is blown by mouth and not pressed. In some cases, a piece can take up to 25 glassworkers to produce. The making of cranberry glass is more than the art of blowing glass--the glassworkers must have the knowledge to craft the special gold chloride formula that is added to the molten glass.
