BISCUIT OR COOKIE JAR Strawberry Design with Rattan Handle Circa Late 1930s to 1941
Low stock: 1 left
BISCUIT or COOKIE JAR from the late 1930s to 1941, decorated with hand-painted pattern of strawberries, vines, and leaves with an embossed rib pattern on body. Topped with a rattan handle for carrying, jar stands at a height of 5” without the lid and 6 ½” including the lid. Bottom stamped “MADE IN JAPAN”, alongside a diamond-shaped double S and an indecipherable row of Japanese characters.
The jar is in great vintage condition, though exhibiting typical signs of age like crazing. The rattan handle is still in excellent shape, and the interior remains free from brown staining or spots. There are, however, fine line cracks on the lid. Please examine the photos carefully.
This biscuit jar would make a lovely addition to a vintage style kitchen or would make a great housewarming gift filled with home-baked cookies!
