Collection: Real Photo Postcards (RPPC)

Unique Antique Photographic Records of Everyday Life — Local History, People, Places, and Moments

Real Photo Postcards (RPPC) are true photographic records made on light‑sensitive photo paper rather than through traditional printing, popularized after Eastman Kodak introduced postcard‑back photo paper in 1902. Produced through the 1940s—often by local photographers or amateurs in very small quantities—RPPCs capture everyday life, including family portraits, businesses, local events, and natural disasters. Because each card represents real people and events, RPPCs are highly valued for their historical significance.
