I DON'T WANT TO SET THE WORLD ON FIRE is a timeless song with music and words crafted by Bennie Benjamin, Eddie Durham, Sol Marcus, and Eddie Seiler. Originally composed in 1938, it was first recorded by Harlan Leonard and His Rockets in 1940.

Tommy Tucker and His Orchestra recorded the song in June 1941 for Okeh Records, Tucker's version quickly became a hit and achieved Gold Record status. Its popularity surged after the Pearl Harbor attack, cementing its place in music history.

Published by Cherio Music in 1941, the sheet music cover was designed by renowned mid-century artist Albert Barbelle, known for illustrating the first Mickey Mouse book. The cover illustration prominently features a romantic image of a man and woman kissing above cupid and his torch, with an inset photo of Tommy Tucker. The inside front cover and outside back cover are utilized to promote other popular Cherio songs of the time, such as "Kickonga" and Gershwin's "No Loves Blues."

The sheet music is in very good condition and comes in a protective sleeve.
