Low stock: 1 left
Featuring the CREAM PITCHER from the 1876 CAPE COD COLLECTION by Avon, which is reminiscent of the early American pressed glass known as “Sandwich Glass”, renowned for its lacy, intricate designs, fine background stippling, and exquisite brilliance.
The pitcher weighs over 11 ounces, measures 3 3/4" tall at the spout and 5" across including the handle, and is stamped Avon on the bottom. The piece is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
Its deep ruby red hue adds a classic touch to winter holidays and Valentine's Day décor, and its timeless beauty brings a touch of elegance to any summertime gathering.
Sandwich Glass and the Avon 1876 Cape Cod Collection: The 1876 Cape Cod Collection pays tribute to the Boston & Sandwich Glass Works, founded in 1825 on Cape Cod, whose sandwich glass designs are well-known and highly prized. The collection was inspired by the classic Roman Rosette pattern and its name commemorates the 1876 Philadelphia Centennial and the region of origin for Sandwich glass. Avon produced the glassware through Wheaton Glass from 1975 to 1993.
