Vibrant chromolithograph featuring Victorian era youngsters tossing snow balls on an icy pond. The young girl sports a fur-trimmed capulet over her aquamarine colored polonaise-style dress, while the little boy is outfitted in a classic brown sailor-style ensemble, complete with knickerbocker breaches.
This quality chromolithograph has been printed on thick paper with a glossy finish, measuring a total of 4 ½" x 6". Mounted on a 9" x 11" board with silver-inked decorative border, this chromolithograph would be stunning displayed in a frame.
The gift message on the back of the mounting board is written in Spencerian cursive script, congratulating a student from her teacher. The Spencerian script and accompanying illustration suggest that this chromolithograph dates back to the 19th or early 20th century.
There is no visible artist signature or publisher's mark. The mounting board exhibits age related deterioration; however, the chromolithograph has retained its vividness, apart from a minuscule blemish at the upper corner where the ink has begun to fade. It is in superb condition.
