Great item for your 1970s themed summer party!
The BEACHCOMBERS' HAPPY HOUR BARGUIDE leaflet published by Southern Comfort in 1970, is a classic display of mid-century American retail advertising when recipe pamphlets and booklets were promotional give-aways. The leaflet has a range of vintage photographs of beachcombers donning Swim & Sun Fashions and Catalina Martin Swimwear, as well as recipes and ideas for a grand 1970s beach or poolside picnic--so some snacks and a towel are all you need to get started!
Based on the right edge, the 12-page recipe leaflet was "tear-out" pamphlet from a magazine. It is in good condition with no tears and appears to be unused. There is a few browning spots due to age. Measures 4 ¾” x 8 ¼”.
Cocktail recipes include the Honolulu Cooler described as the surf sets' choice at the Sheraton Royal Hawaiian Hotel, the Comfort Summer Sour from La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club, the Lemon Cooler from the El Mirador Hotel-Palm Springs, and the Comfort Julep from the Louisville Brown Hotel, and many more.
