Real photo postcard, "Bad Dürkheim a.d. Weinstraße Das Größte Weinfass der Welt" depicting the largest wine barrel in the world. The barrel called the Giant Cask or Giant Barrel, could hold 1.7 million liters. It is not used for wine storage, but houses a restaurant and gallery.

The barrel was built in 1934 by Fritz Keller who constructed the cask from 200 huge fir trees from the Black Forest to commemorate Germany's Wine Road.

The initials E.H.M are printed in the divided back line so the postcard may have been published by Emil Hartmann of Mannheim. The postage box imprinted with 15 123589 M/1320.

Black and white photograph with handwritten white ink caption.
