Beautiful hand painted antique made in CZECHOSLOVAKIA dessert or salad plate.
The pattern entitled, WINDMILL BY THE SEA, is similar to Zell and Haag and depicts a Dutch couple standing near the water with a sailboat and windmill in the background. The young man dressed in a red hat, red shirt and blue pants, is smoking a pipe. The woman also dressed in red and blue, is wearing a white apron and hat and carries a basket. Both are wearing wooden shoes. The rim is trimmed in green.
The plate is marked Made in Czechoslovakia and based on the mark, was manufactured between 1918 and 1938. The plate is in great condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. The plate measures 7 ¼” in diameter.
Would make a great addition to someone’s antique china collection—especially for someone who loves Dutch scenes, windmills or the sea.
