Wonderful piece of antique sheet music featuring the melody and lyrics for the World War I song, WHEN I COME BACK TO YOU We'll Have a Yankee-Doodle Wedding.
Composed by William Tracey and lyricized by Jack Stern, this 1918 composition from Douglas & Newman Music Company offers tender lyrics of a soldier's pledge to reunite with his beloved after the war and wed her.
The sheet music boasts remarkable condition and its cover art, with an illustration by Barbelle of a WWI solider and a young woman embraced, would make an extraordinary framed piece for a WWI collector. Jack Stern (1896-1985) and William Tracey (1883-1957) worked together on multiple compositions throughout their music endeavors. The back cover of the sheet music includes music excerpts from three of these collaborations.
Some mild tears are visible on the edges, but the piece remains in one piece. Ideal for collectors, it is packaged with a protective sleeve for preservation.
