The story of why the publisher, Ned Waldman published the Christmas book when he learned it was about go out of print is touching—and why he produced matching tea sets to accompany the book.

In 1992, he was asked in a Pioneer Press interview, “how does a Jewish fellow get so involved and passionate about a Christmas book?"  Waldman shared his personal story about living with a "fantastic lady" named Adele Molitor, near the Basilica, from the time he was only two months, when his mother died, until he was six years old.

Waldman said of Adele, “She was an extraordinary human being who filled their one-room home with inexpensive Woolworth teacups and a tree at Christmas.”

Waldman considered his publishing of the book, "A Cup of Christmas Tea," which was the story of a man who finds the meaning of Christmas when he visits his elderly aunt, his special tribute to Adele, and one of his most important legacies.
