A charming set of three vintage Japanese figural Christmas light bulbs featuring character designs reminiscent of classic Disney animation. The group includes a Pluto-like dog, a dwarf-like figure, and a Donald Duck-like character, each molded in glass with colorful painted details.

The bulbs retain their original small screw bases and are marked Japan. Their expressive faces, whimsical forms, and well-loved surfaces capture the nostalgic appeal of early novelty Christmas lighting. The set is offered together as a collectible display group.

The figures are described as Disney-inspired look-alikes only; no Disney licensing or manufacturer attribution has been established.

The Pluto-like dog is approximately 3½" long, including screw base and has an orange-brown body with brown ears and tail, red collar, and black painted outlines. The seated dog has an elongated neck, expressive face, and molded front legs. Scattered paint loss and wear throughout.

The white molded dwarf-like figure is approximately 3" long, including screw base with a rounded face, prominent nose, folded arms, and a broad cap-like head shape. Nearly all original painted decoration is missing, with only small traces of red remaining. The molded character detail remains visible.

Approximately 3¼" long, including screw base, the Donald Duck-like character, also white molded glass, wears a red hat, yellow shirt, red collar accents, and has purple-toned paint remnants at the feet. The figure has a projecting bill, rounded body, and hands positioned at the sides. Considerable paint wear, particularly to the shirt and facial details.

Collector’s Note

Figural Christmas bulbs brought familiar characters and whimsical subjects to early electric holiday displays. Japanese manufacturers produced a wide variety of novelty forms, including figures inspired by popular animation and storybook characters. This trio is particularly appealing as a group, with three distinct personalities and original Japan markings. Their surviving molded detail and aged painted surfaces make them a nostalgic addition to a collection of vintage Christmas lighting.

Good vintage collectible condition with substantial age-related paint loss and wear. The Pluto-like dog and duck retain portions of their original colorful decoration, while the dwarf has lost nearly all of its paint except for traces of red. The metal bases show age-related discoloration and oxidation. Please review the photographs closely for the condition of each figure.

Electrical disclosure: Vintage electrical items sold as collectible/display pieces; not tested or recommended for electrical use.

Display Appeal

Displayed together, the three figures create a playful little holiday vignette. Their contrasting colors, expressive faces, and worn surfaces have the character of well-loved Christmas decorations that have been carefully saved over the years. They would be especially appealing in a vintage ornament display, a collection of figural light bulbs, or alongside other early Japanese holiday novelties.
