This TIN-LITHOGRAPH RATCHET-STYLE JAZZY MUSICIAN NOISEMAKER from the late 1940s to 1950s is in the shape of a rectangular box. The lithograph depicts a jazz musician on the front and a red haired woman dancing on the back. The light colored background is filled with festive blue and orange balloons and wavy musical bars. The ratchet handle is made of green plastic.
The TIN-LITHOGRAPH RATCHET-STYLE JAZZY MUSICIAN NOISEMAKER was made by the U.S. Metal Toy Manufacturing Company of Brooklyn, New York; the lithograph includes the company mark. U.S. Metal Toy Manufacturing made tin-lithographed toys from 1946 through the 1980s. Their slogan was, "Joys With U.S. Toys."
The noisemaker measures about 4 ¼” long by 1 ¾” wide. Depth is a little over ½" not including the plastic handle and 2" with the plastic handle. Ratchet and sound still works great. Lithograph on both sides is in great condition with no rust or scratches.
Nice addition to someone's vintage toy collection as well as a great noisemaker for a vintage New Year's Eve or birthday party!
