Bob Wills and Cliff Johnsen collaborated to create STARS AND STRIPES on Iwo Jima, a patriotic music piece. Recorded in 1945 by Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys, it was Wills' second number one hit on the Juke Box Folk charts and stayed on the chart for eleven weeks.
Hill and Range Songs of Hollywood, California released a sheet music edition for voice and piano, complete with chord symbols and guitar chord diagrams. The cover showcases an artist's portrayal of the American flag being raised on Iwo Jima, with an inset photograph of Bob Wills. The back cover advertises Spade Cooley's Song Folio for Western Swing.
