Low stock: 1 left
According to American Patriotic and Political China, written by Marian Klamkin, the “McKinley toby pitcher is one of the scarcer items from McKinley campaign."
The small creamware pitcher called, THE MCKINLEY JUG was made for the 1896 presidential campaign and depicts William McKinley in Napoléonic costume and pose. The satiric figure wears a black tricorn and boots, yellow vest, blue waist coat and a red and blue war medal on its chest.
This wonderful example of the rare hand-enameled jug is about 5 ½“ high and with the handle, about 4 ½” wide. The base is marked, PAT FEB 2nd 1896 above a flag and below, THE MCKINLEY JUG.
The jug is in great condition. It is undamaged with no cracks or chips. Other than some light discoloration, light crazing, and a small amount of wear to the glaze, all which are consistent with the age of the jug, it is fantastic condition.
