Flapper-Era Romance – Bold Rose & Black Jazz Age Cover

Collector’s Note

Flapper-era sheet music remains highly collectible for its bold graphic covers and vivid glimpse into the romance and independence of the Roaring Twenties. This circa 1923 example stands out for its dramatic rose-and-black palette and quintessential Jazz Age heroine surrounded by her admirers.

Composed by Ray Henderson with lyrics by Mort Dixon—key figures of Tin Pan Alley—the piece represents the height of 1920s popular songwriting. Whether collected for its music, its artwork, or its display appeal, it captures the glamour and playful sophistication of the Jazz Age.

Published in 1923 by Waterson, Berlin and Snyder of New York, this striking Jazz Age sheet music for You're in Love with Everyone composed by Ray Henderson with lyrics by Mort Dixon features a glamorous flapper styled with a finger-waved bob and long beads, surrounded by autographed photographs of admirers, visually echoes the song’s playful title and the playful modern romance of the Roaring Twenties.

An inset studio portrait features singer Irving Fisher, included as promotional artwork — common practice among Tin Pan Alley publishers whether or not the featured performer recorded the song. The back cover advertises contemporary 1923–24 hits including Come on Spark Plug and Covered Wagon Days, offering additional period context.

Condition is very good. Corners show minimal handling. Previous owner’s name in pencil on front (light and potentially erasable). Colors remain bright and display beautifully. Housed in a protective sleeve.

Framing Appeal

The dramatic rose-and-black palette and confident flapper illustration make this a striking statement piece for a music room, dressing area, or Jazz Age–inspired interior. Displayed in a simple black or gold frame, it pairs beautifully with Art Deco accents and 1920s glamour décor.
