PÉPE Pattern by Red Wing Mid-Century China Plates (Set of 3) 1962 - 1963
Out of stock
Red Wing produced its Pépe pattern as part of its dinnerware Cylinder / Duo-Tone line. Although extremely popular with mid-century modern collectors today for its red and orange cylindrical shapes with green trim on a beige speckled background, it was only produced for one year from 1962 to 1963 as Red Wing closely monitored dinnerware sales and if a pattern did not reach its sales goal, it was quickly dropped and another pattern added.
This lot includes two (2) 10" dinner plates and one (1) 7 ½” salad plate.
The base of each plate is stamped with Red Wing Pépe pattern mark and the piece number, 119 and 115 for the dinner plate and salad plate, respectively, with the words, detergent proof-oven proof.
Great condition and free from chips and cracks other than a few tiny pinhole crawling spots in the glaze.
