A beautifully sculpted Jim Shore angel in prayer, her cloak opening to reveal a serene Nativity scene of Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus. This early Heartwood Creek hanging ornament features the classic rope hanger and the praying‑angel sculpt used only in the first generation of Nativity‑cloak ornaments. Hand‑painted stone resin in soft blue and cream tones with quilt‑pattern detailing. No box.
Designed by Jim Shore and produced under Enesco’s Heartwood Creek license, this early 2010s design resin angel reflects the artist’s signature folk‑art style and combines the appearance of traditional hand-carved folk art with the warmth of American quilting. The angel’s beautiful face, detailed wings, delicate halo, and Nativity decorated cloak, make her a lovely display piece for Christmas, spring, or throughout the year.
Collector’s Note
Early Nativity-cloak angels with the praying pose and rope hanger are increasingly sought after, especially in excellent condition. This retired praying angel design predates the 2023 reissue that holds a star, and is part of the first miniature Nativity-cloak ornament line.
The 4 ½” ornament is in like-new condition without original box. Original classic rope hanger and tag attached. No damage observed. Please review the detailed photographs for condition and markings.
