About Imperial Glass: Imperial Glass was founded in Bellaire, Ohio by Edward Muhleman, a former Wheeling riverboat captain and financier in 1901.
The company usually made press glass patterns and is most famous for its "Candlewick" pattern. In 1957, Imperial purchased the molds for Heisey and a few years later from Cambridge Glass. Low demand led to the closure of Imperial in 1984.
