Sandpipers are found throughout coastal areas and are exhibit considerable range in size and appearance, including their recognizable long bills. This hand-carved and painted sandpiper shorebird is attached to a wood base and its legs are made from heavy gauge wire.
At the highest point, it measures about 7 ½” tall and is 10” long from bill tip to its primary feathers. Colors are primarily deep chocolate brown and a beige taupe. There is no artist signature.
This piece of folk art would make a great addition to anyone's coastal, country or shabby chic decorating.
