A set of two (2) RYE POTTERY REDWARE BUTTER DISHES from the Golden Lamb.  The butter dishes measure 3 ¾” in diameter.  Centered in the dish is a raised lamb—the restaurant’s identifying mark for more than two centuries.  The back of the dish is back-stamped with the Rye Pottery mark.

The Golden Lamb was founded in 1803 in Lebanon, Ohio by Jonas Seaman.  Still serving restaurant and overnight guests today, the Golden Lamb is one of America’s most historic inns and has hosted a number of historical figures, including 12 United States Presidents (from as far back as John Quincy Adams to as recent as George W. Bush). It is known for its décor—and is filled with antiques and period Shaker furniture.
