Set of two Erich Segal novels, LOVE STORY and its sequel, OLIVER'S STORY. 

Erich Segal's LOVE STORY, released in 1970, was an immediate sensation, becoming the top-selling novel in the US. It was later adapted into a highly successful film by Paramount Pictures. The sequel, OLIVER'S STORY, was published in 1977 and also turned into a film by Paramount, though it did not achieve the same success. According to Segal, this was due to his lack of involvement in the screenplay and production.

The novels revolve around the romantic relationship between Oliver Barrett IV, a wealthy Harvard student, and Jenny Cavilleri, a smart Radcliffe student from a lower socioeconomic background. Their marriage causes tension between Oliver and his father. Tragically, Jenny's death from leukemia takes an emotional toll on Oliver. The second book continues with Oliver's struggle to move on and find love again, as well as his mending relationship with his controlling father.

The Book Club Edition hardcover books are well-preserved, with tight bindings and no discoloration on the cover boards. The Love Story copy bears the handwritten name "Ann G" on the front end sheet. While the dust jackets are still intact, they do show some signs of wear and small tears. Additionally, there is noticeable staining and fading on the dust jacket spine edges, particularly on the Oliver's Story copy.
