DOLLYWOOD: Tennessee Mountain Cooking was compiled by members of the Dollywood family and sold at the theme park. Dollywood is a 150-acre theme park located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee partially owned by country western singer and star, Dolly Parton.
Parton, who grew up in the area, bought interest in an old theme park and as part of the deal, reopened it in 1986 as "Dollywood." She became involved in the operations of the business because she knew a great theme park would grow the local economy and bring jobs to the area.
Beautiful color photographs of Dolly are found throughout the book, as are some of her recipes--like Dolly Parton's Banana Pudding and Dolly's Parton's Apple Stack Pie. Other recipes include:

- Smoky Mountain Biscuits
- Hoppin' John
- Buttermilk Pie
- Blackberry Jam Cake
- Chocolate Sauerkraut Cake
- Corn Relish
The 159-page cookbook does not have a copyright date or an ISBN and is difficult to find. World Catalog lists the publication in a date range through 1989. Not confirmed, but it may have only had one printing.
The comb bound book is in good condition but the top of the pages have begun to darken from age, common with this design of book. Also some slightly curling of the edges inside the comb.
Would be a great addition to someone's cookbook collection--or for a Dolly fan!
