Food has long been a common ground for bringing family and friends together--and for those who attend religious services somewhere, potluck dinners are a part of the regular routine. Whether called a potluck, covered-dish supper or fellowship meal, these events bring the church family together to share a meal, show hospitality, get to know each other, and to just have fun.
The CHURCH POTLUCK SUPPER COOKBOOK by Elaine Robinson presents the best of church supper cuisine with more than 500 treasured recipes, gathered from church supper cooks across the United States.
Recipes are divided into several areas, including the potluck dinner, fundraising meals and food sales, church picnics, entertaining at the church, and sharing food for a family in crisis, although any of the recipes can be adapted to fit the situation at hand.
Like any self-respecting potluck, a wide variety of desserts are presented, from One-Pan Chocolate Cake, Velvet Lunch Cupcakes, Apple Cobbler, Peanut Butter Fudge, Lemon Bars and more. Other recipes include Wedding Soup, Corn Casserole, Old-Fashioned Fish Chowder, Barbecued Ribs, Summer Squash Casserole, Teriyaki Steak--too many to mention!
The 296-page paperback book, released by Adams Media in 2003, is in good condition and measures 9" x 8". There is some discoloring, yellowing and spotting to the edge pages. (See the third image)
