Late-1990s Arcopal Florentine Dinnerware with Soft Pink Florals & Scalloped Edge

Collector’s Note

The Florentine pattern appeals to collectors who appreciate Arcopal’s final generation of opal-glass designs—lightweight, durable pieces with a soft, luminous finish. Produced only in the late 1990s, Florentine reflects the brand’s shift toward more contemporary styling just before Arcopal ended its production.

With its short manufacturing window and refined floral palette, Florentine is among the more desirable late-period Arcopal patterns. Collectors value these pieces not only for their practicality and resilience, but also for their place in the closing chapter of French opaline glassmaking.

Elegant and quietly romantic, the Arcopal Florentine pattern features delicate pink blossoms accented by soft gray-green foliage, all set against a luminous white ground and framed by a gently scalloped edge. The design captures a refined, late-20th-century French aesthetic—subtle, versatile, and timeless.

Crafted in France from Arcopal’s signature tempered opal glass, these pieces are lightweight, nonporous, and exceptionally durable. Designed for everyday use, they offer the rare combination of practicality and beauty—equally suited to casual meals or a softly styled table setting.

Decorating Appeal

Arcopal Florentine brings a light, effortless elegance to the table. Its soft floral palette and luminous finish layer beautifully with both vintage and modern pieces, making it ideal for everyday dining as well as relaxed, collected table settings.

Mix dinner plates and soup bowls with ironstone, glassware, or patterned linens for a look that feels both fresh and timeless—perfect for French country, cottage, or understated traditional interiors.

The pattern’s understated elegance pairs beautifully with both vintage and contemporary tableware. Pieces are in excellent condition and dishwasher and microwave safe.

Available as both dinner plates and rimmed soup bowls, each piece is sold individually, allowing you to build or refresh your set over time. Make your selection from the menu located just under the At-A-Glance grid.

Historical Note

Arcopal’s Florentine pattern belongs to the final chapter of the company’s opal-glass production. Introduced circa 1995, it reflects a late shift toward softer, more contemporary floral decoration while maintaining the brand’s hallmark durability and luminous finish.

Arcopal was introduced in 1958 by Verrerie Cristallerie d’Arques in Arques, France, and quickly became known for its strong, lightweight, heat-resistant glass. Production of vintage Arcopal ended in 2000, making Florentine one of the last patterns produced—an appealing detail for collectors of modern French tableware and late-century design.
