A charming piece of mid-century dairy history, this clear glass cottage cheese container features embossed clover blossoms, leafy stems, and bold lettering that recalls the days of returnable glass packaging. Made in 1948 by Owens-Illinois, the jar combines practical food-storage design with decorative details that make it especially appealing to collectors of vintage dairy advertising and kitchen glass.

The front is embossed “COTTAGE CHEESE,” while the reverse reads “CLOVER BLOSSOM CREAMED COTTAGE CHEESE.” Delicate clover flowers and leaves encircle the upper shoulders, adding a distinctive decorative touch to an otherwise utilitarian container. The heel markings “WASH AND RETURN” and “12 OZ NET” reflect its original use as a returnable dairy package.

The base carries the Owens-Illinois diamond–oval–I trademark, plant and date codes 9 and 48, the script Duraglas mark, and “CIN O.” These markings identify the jar as a 1948 product of the Streator, Illinois, glass factory.
