A devotional Holy Family font with silver-tone relief on a wood-style plaque.

Collector’s Note

This Holy Family holy water font offers a warm and accessible expression of faith, centered on one of the most beloved devotional subjects—Mary, Joseph, and the Christ Child. Representing love, protection, and the sanctity of home, the Holy Family has long been a comforting presence in Christian households.

With its silver-tone relief and classic oval plaque form, this piece blends traditional symbolism with a more contemporary presentation. Ideal for nurseries, bedrooms, or entryways, it makes a thoughtful gift for baptisms, first communions, confirmations, or house blessings—encouraging simple daily rituals of reflection and care.

A like-new holy water font from Colombia, dated 2012, featuring a raised silver-tone depiction of the Holy Family.

The sculptural relief is mounted on an oval, wood-finish plaque, creating a classic devotional look with a slightly more modern construction. The basin below forms a small, shield-like vessel, completing the traditional holy water font form.

The reverse includes a label reading “Medellín Colombia 2012”, indicating origin and date of manufacture. A built-in hanging ring allows for easy wall display. Condition is excellent with no chips, cracks, or wear. Clean surface, intact finish, never used.

Dimensions: 4 ½” high by 3 ⅜” wide.

About Holy Water Fonts

Holy water fonts have long been used in Christian homes as devotional objects intended to hold blessed water for daily use. Traditionally placed near a doorway or bedside, they serve as a reminder to make the Sign of the Cross—an act of protection, gratitude, and reflection.

Modern examples, such as those produced in Colombia and other Catholic regions, continue this tradition with accessible materials and familiar imagery, making them widely used for both personal devotion and meaningful gift-giving.
