Publiée en 1940, If I Could Tell You présente une illustration sereine d'une femme debout dans un champ à côté d'un grand arbre majestueux – rendue en vert doux sur un fond beige chaleureux. Composée par Idabelle Smith Firestone (1874–1954) – épouse de Harvey Samuel Firestone, fondateur de Firestone Tire & Rubber Company – cette ballade émouvante est devenue profondément personnelle pour la famille Firestone.

En 1941, Firestone collabore avec Madeleine Marshall, professeur à Juilliard, pour compléter le cadre lyrique. La chanson fut dédiée à son défunt mari et à sa fille et devint plus tard le thème de l'émission de musique classique diffusée à l'échelle nationale, Voice of Firestone, sponsorisée par l'entreprise familiale. Le ténor Richard Crooks enregistra l'œuvre pour Victor Records, contribuant à cimenter sa place dans la culture musicale américaine du début du 20e siècle.

Cet exemplaire est en très bon à quasi-excellent état, avec seulement une petite déchirure intérieure sur le bord. Il conserve un tampon du magasin Baldwin Piano et est conservé dans une pochette de protection d'archives pour sa préservation.
