Vintage CHURCH PLATE by World Wide Art.

The plate depicts the IMMANUEL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST in Saint Bernard, Ohio and was released in 1958 in honor of the church's 75th anniversary.  Immanuel Church was founded by German-speaking families in the Cincinnati area.

The 9 ¼” round plate is in great condition.  The center of the plate features a pen and ink drawing in red above the words:

Immanuel United Church of Christ
(Evangelical and Reformed)
St. Bernard, Ohio
1958

Surrounding the scalloped edge of the plate, is gold transfer scrollwork design about 1 ¼” to 1 ½” deep.  

The back of the plate is inscribed:

Immanuel Church was organized January 1, 1883,
with 24 charter members, many of whom were
German-speaking families living in Ludlow
Grove.  First regular minister, the Rev. Anton
Seyring, D.D. 1885 -1918. Caly Street Church
dedicated 1888.  The Rev. H.P Ley, Pastor
1919-1937.  The new Tower Avenue Church
dedicated 1924, cost $70,000.  The Rev. Carl
Kiewit, 1937 - 1950.  Chancel rearranged 1939,
parsonage purchased 1950.  The present pastor,
the Rev. Harry G. Schairbaum, July 1951.  Many
major improvements brought about by his leadership
and a new educational annex planned.
