Featuring a lovely cobalt blue and white HANGING SALT CELLAR made in Czechoslovakia.  The cellar is designed in the collectible Blue Onion or Zwiebelmuster pattern with the word, Salt on the front.

A lovely scalloped edge borders the top with a hole for hanging the cellar on the wall.  A wood top is attached. Often the wood tops on hanging salt cellars are missing.

The wood lid is in very good condition as is the cellar, other than a small chip on the back near the hole.

The bottom on the cellar is stamped, Made in Czechoslovakia inside an oval.  There is an incised trademark as well, which is difficult to read; possibly an oval design with the words, Czech Slov underneath.  Additionally, the numbers 527 and the letter S are incised.

The depth of the half-moon shaped salt cellar measures about 3 ¼”.  It is 4" tall from bottom to top of scalloped back.  The back of the cellar measures 5 ⅛” across and 3 ⅞” from back to front.

This beautiful salt cellar would be a great addition to someone's country French or farmhouse decorating or for someone who collects Blue Onion.
