PLASTIC BEVERAGE ADVERTISING COASTERS Made by Tagmaster for Cincinnati Restaurant CENTURY INN
Vintage PLASTIC BEVERAGE ADVERTISING COASTERS with original boxes. The listing includes a total of four coasters, measuring approximately 3 ½” square—two blue, one red and one lime green, packaged in two outer sleeves.
The mid-century coasters were an advertising premium for THE CENTURY INN, the oldest tavern in Ohio built in 1806 and located in Cincinnati. The coasters may have been a give-away for the historic inn’s popular clambakes.
Centered on the plastic coasters is the early Century Inn logo, featuring a drawing of a pot-belly stove. Although long since removed, a working pot-belly stove sat in the center of the tavern’s bar giving the inn an ambiance fitting its 200-year history. Below the drawing, are the words, Since 1806.
The plastic coasters were made by Tagmaster, an advertising specialty business founded in 1949. The cardboard outer sleeves are printed in red, yellow and orange with the words, Fiesta Coasters – Tag-Master Line – ASI 4850.
Great piece of restaurant memorabilia and Cincinnati history.
