Large Antique DOVETAIL CUTLERY or KNIFE TRAY Signed and Dated July 15, 1871
Featuring a late 19th century ANTIQUE WOODEN CUTLERY TRAY. The charming tray is large, measuring 16" across by 10 ¼” wide. The joints are dovetailed and wooden pegs attach the handle to the tray. A heart cut-out used for carrying, decorates the handle.
The piece is SIGNED AND DATED on the base. It is difficult to make out the first name, but however the last name is Yaeger. Scratched into the base is a date, July 15, 1871.
The tray does have a few chips and the bottom of one side of the base is split, giving the piece a real farmhouse feel.
The piece would be a beautiful addition to someone's farmhouse, primitive or French country décor.
Enjoy your shopping!
Note: The last image has been darkened to best show the date and maker's signature.
