A beautifully detailed, but damaged, antique FREE-STANDING HOLY WATER FONT.

The free-standing holy water font depicts a STATUE OF CHRIST JESUS standing inside a grotto in prayerful meditation .  The body of the font is made of white glazed porcelain.  Gold decorated leaves and intricate little white flowers highlighted in gold gilt line the grotto opening.  The inside of the grotto is painted blue.  The hair and face of Christ Jesus are hand-painted in natural colors, including His rosy cheeks and light brown hair.  There are no markings.

The font measures 5" tall by 2 ½” wide.  Although damaged and poorly repaired, it is still a beautiful piece.  In front of the light, the damaged cracks almost appear to be stained glass.
