BEACHCOMBERS' HAPPY HOUR BARGUIDE Leaflet Circa 1970
Great item for your next 1970s themed party!
Really fun BEACHCOMBERS' HAPPY HOUR BARGUIDE leaflet by Southern Comfort Corporation published in 1970. Based on the right edge, this piece was "tear-out" pamphlet from a magazine. It's another great example mid-century American retail advertising when store, food products, and new appliance promotions included branded cookbooks, recipe pamphlets and booklets as give-aways.
The 12-page recipe leaflet is filled with vintage photographs of "beach babes and hunks," namely beachcombers, outfitted by Swim & Sun Fashions and Catalina Martin Swimwear. Just add the towel and a cooler full of snacks, and the recipes and ideas from this booklet will have you ready for one groovy 1970s beach or poolside picnic!
Cocktail recipes include the Honolulu Cooler described as the surf sets' choice at the Sheraton Royal Hawaiian Hotel, the Comfort Summer Sour from La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club, the Lemon Cooler from the El Mirador Hotel-Palm Springs, and the Comfort Julep from the Louisville Brown Hotel, and many more.
It is in good condition with no tears and appears to be unused. There is a few browning spots due to age. Measures 4 ¾” x 8 ¼”

Thank you for visiting THE TOWNHOUSE ANTIQUES & VINTAGE.
We strive to provide you the best in antique, collectibles and vintage items and do our best to provide you within the written description as much information, whether it’s the history, manufacturer or condition, for each item we sell.
However, we also recognize that a “picture is worth a thousand words” and ask that you view the photos we provide as well. Often, a photo can be more effective than a written description when determining if an item will meet your needs and satisfaction.
