Kentucky Derby "bar glasses" have been issued from many sources, often as promotional souvenirs and giveaways for bars, restaurants and stores.
Listing is for a Kentucky Derby Bar Glass from the 93rd Running of the Derby in 1967. The green on frosted glass design features a racing jockey in front of the Churchill Downs Twin Spires and uses a modern font and an oversized D in the word, Derby. The winners through 1967 listed on the back. Manufacturers used the same design for Derby bar glasses in subsequent years during the early 1970s with slight changes.
Occasionally, sellers mistakenly mark bar glasses as official Derby glasses because similar to an official glass, the designs often include the infamous Twin Spires and a list previous race winners. Adding to the confusion is that sometimes the bar glass design is a "look-a-alike" from a previous year official glass.
