Vintage linen era postcard "The Old Ridgley House Built 1728" features one of Delaware's most famous colonial houses and the first documented residence in the Dover Green Historic District, now called the Parke-Ridgely House.
Its name refers to Thomas Parke, who built it, and Dr. Charles G. Ridgely, who bought it in 1769 and in whose family it has remained since. Mabel Lloyd Ridgely called the residence home from 1894 until her death in 1962.
