This retired 1991 Christmas DUNOON SCOTLAND BONE CHINA MUG features village people caroling, shopping, and roasting chestnuts under the starry evening sky. The 360 degree illustrations completely cover all sides. The pattern is Christmastime.
The attention to detail shown by the artist, Sue Scullard is amazing--from the snow capped tree to the little dog sitting at the girl's foot to the tea room signage to the bakery windows. Sculllard is an illustrator and wood engraver who has designed multiple pieces for Dunoon for decades.
Made in Scotland, the mug is 4.25" tall using the Dunoon Devon shape. The capacity is about 8 ounces. The mug is marked 1991 and is in great vintage condition. Would be a fantastic addition to your holiday china or as a holiday gift for anyone born or married in 1991.
