Featuring an early GRANITEWARE CREAM PAIL, circa 1880 - 1920.

The antique CREAM PAIL is decorated in the gorgeous "Blue & White Swirl" pattern and the mouth of the pail is trimmed in black. A black wire bail handle with a black painted wood grip is attached. The matching enamel lid has a black enamel loop handle.

Measuring 7 ¾” tall with the lid, the piece is in wonderful vintage condition for antique granite ware with very minimal rust or chips. The chips are primarily inside the rim and around the inside of the pail lid. As you can see from the photos, they are not obvious with the lid on the piece. The cream pail appears to be gently cared for. Please review the photos carefully as they have been taken from several angles.

Imagine this wonderful piece as an addition to someone's French country or farmhouse style decorating

Enamel & Granite Ware
Enamelware is made from an old process of coating metal with porcelain, which became popular in the 1800s. By the late 1870s, a new form of enamel ware was developed, called "granite ware."

Graniteware was designed with decorative patterns resembling granite, ranging from mottled, speckled, spatters or swirls. Early granite ware included patterns in turquoise blue with white and green. Both enamel and granite ware were used in the production of early kitchen utility ware.
